BEYOND AUTOMATION CONTROL

FAQ Home Server

Does the product require licenses to operate?
No, the licenses only add more features to the base product. If no licenses are purchased, the server will be able to control home automation, allow the creation of scenes, routines and alarm zones.
What are the existing licenses and what do they do?
The licenses provide the ability to control if a server should have more or less features depending on the client needs and avoid paying for the pull product if not all the features are required. These licenses are payed at the time of purchase, in the form of a single instalment. There are 5 types of licenses that can be purchased to increase the number of integrated services:
Door Video Intercom + VoIP Server (PBX) – Provides a VoIP exchange (PBX) that integrates the home phones with the video doorman, also allows you to see the Door Video Intercom in the interface and to open the door.
Media Server + Multi-Room Sound – Allows you to see movies from the digital library directly on your tablet and to interact with the Multi-Room Sound, controlling all your house's ambient sound  zones through the interface.
Video Surveillance + Access Control – Allows you to view the real-time feeds of IP cameras and also allows to you to be informed when someone enters your house by email with a short video.
User Profiles – Allows you to have various users in the house with different permissions to access different things in the interface. Ex. Children are not allowed to run some scenes, or to controlling some rooms.
Energy Management – Provides communication with energy meters and the visualization of real-time consumption in the interface, graphics and energy reports.
Are all the interfaces Web-based? What is the importance of this characteristic?
Yes, there are 3 interfaces available to the user and one other to the installer. There are several advantages in using web interfaces. Here are some examples:
Interoperability – We can access the interface from any device with any operating system just as long it has access to the network ( Local or Internet ).
Commodity – It is not necessary to install any applications based on your equipment. This makes the configuration of an equipment a matter of seconds.
Centralized – All the information and software is saved centrally and remotely which makes the information coherent and the updates automatic.
Is it possible to control my residence remotely?
Yes, as long as both the house and the device connecting from have access to the internet. The process is very simple, you only need to access to a web page via https ( safe connection and encrypted communications ), by setting the address of your home https://home.my.isimplex.com. Even if your home's internet connection does not have a fixed IP address, the server itself has a DDNS service to facilitate access.
Does the alerts feature mean that the server is an alarm central?
The server is not an alarm central, however, it can behave like one by sending alerts according to the created zones and the values obtained by the automation sensors. If there is an external central it is possible to interact to guarantee a total integration and allowing the user to arm and disarm it in the same interface.
What type of actions can i have in a scene or routine?
In the scenes or routines we can create, in a simple manner, groups of actions that can interact with any service. Therefore, a user can send orders to the automation objects, multi-room audio or communications system. It also allows to create special functions like timers, IF conditions ( Example: If it is not raining, i want to turn on the sprinkles. Otherwise, do nothing ) that enables a greater flexibility to these features
Is it possible to configure the solution remotely?
Yes, the configuration interface is also web, thus, the installer can remotely access the interface, using a secure https connection, and configure any settings as if it was locally.
Can you back up the server settings?
Yes, the integrator interface has the option of backing up the server so you can, at any time, reset the settings made or replicate the same for houses or apartments with similar topologies.
Which kind of video surveillance cameras are compatible with the server?
Any IP camera that provides a MJPEG stream. Over 90% of the IP camera models have streams in this format.
Which IP video doorman is compatible with the server?
All IP video doormans that use the standard SIP protocol.
Where can I answer a video doorman call?
The Video Doorman can be answered in any browser that supports the flash technology or in an audio or audio/video VoIP telephone. The call can even be redirected to your cell phone by using an external VoIP account.
Which automation technologies does the server support?
